Non-Removable Batteries: Are They Acceptable to You?

September 4 2015

At Battery Bob we’re in the business of being passionate about batteries, so there’s no question that the idea of non-removable batteries has a simple answer: they’re not as good as removable batteries! This is especially true in cell phones. We recently came across an article called Are You Ready to Give Up Removable Batteries? and thought the author had some interesting points.

According to the author, when he first moved from a removable battery to a non-removable battery he had his doubts. One of the biggest inconveniences was not being able to switch out a dead cell phone battery for a fresh one. He says he got over it pretty quickly, but we’re wondering if that’s true for everyone. These days batteries last longer than ever, and phones charge faster than ever, but it’s also true that apps use more battery power than they did in previous years. We still think it’s great to have a backup cell phone battery you can use in a pinch.

Another great point made in the comments is that having a removable battery makes it simple to shut down your phone in an "emergency”. We’ve all been there – and expect you probably have too: your phone freezes up for no reason and simply won’t turn off or do anything. Even your "emergency” power off methods won’t work. If you have a removable battery it’s as simple as taking it out, giving your phone a few moments to rest, and then putting it back in to charge up.

Of course iPhones and many newer Android phones are already free of the removable battery. The cool thing is that these companies, and other innovative companies in the battery industry, have come out with unique ways to make sure phones are charged at all times. Extended battery covers allow you to have a larger battery at all times. Cell phone travel chargers are available for every model. In short, the issue is up for debate but it seems all sides have plenty to back up their positions.

Battery life is actu (10/8/2015 10:57:00 PM)
Battery life is actually not bad at all with the LG Venice. We must reembemr it does not have any 4G capabilities, though, so this is to be expected. I managed to keep it alive for 9.5 hours under heavy use, while conserving battery made it last about 19.5 hours. Under casual use it would hold up for about 13-14 hours. http://ygmqqc.com oqymwpxypj [link=http://wanppldgmi.com]wanppldgmi[/link]
